Calculation Of Acoustics

T (sect) = 0, 163*V / (-ln(1-α)*S + 4*μ*V)

where

V is the volume of the room, m3
S is the total area of all protective surfaces of the hall, m2
α is the mean absorption coefficient in the room
μ = sound absorption coefficient in the air

The calculated recovery time is graphically compared with the recommended (optimal) value. It is optimistic to call a time of reverberation where the sound of musical material in this room will be the best or where the speech will be the highest.

The optimum reverberation time is normalized by relevant international standards:

DIN 18041 Acoustical quality in small to medium-sized rooms, 2004
EBU Tech. 3276 - Listening conditions for sound programme, 2004
